New Track: 27

New Track: 27

The Cheek of Her’s latest track “27”, inspired by Club 27 with Amy Winehouse being the latest addition to join. It’s a really interesting but morbidly sad co-incidence this Forever 27 club, read more about it on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/27_Club and loads of other sites dedicated to the well connected club of musicians who are no longer with us….Lyrics are below:

27

Why do all good ones die?

Never reaching their ceiling.

Butterflies in the sky,

Delicate wings aren’t healing.

Tell me…

Why do all the good ones,

Why do all the good ones,

Die early?

Tell me…

Why do all the good ones,

Why do all the good ones,

Die early?

She lived a privileged life,

Singing from her soul,

Rags to riches,

Cocaine grips its

Fingers on her bones.

Her demons were quite real,

She couldn’t fight.

Earth to earth,

Ashes to ashes,

And so the story goes….

Why do all good ones die?

Never reaching their ceiling.

Butterflies in the sky,

Delicate wings aren’t healing.

Tell me…

Why do all the good ones,

Why do all the good ones,

Die early?

Tell me…

Why do all the good ones,

Why do all the good ones,

Die early?

Johnson, Jones, Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison

Kurt Cobain,

27 rocking halos in heaven,

Winehouse brings champagne.

Club, coincidence, curse of Rock and Roll?

Saturn’s Return?

The Grim Reaper he’s a cheater

Of Musos we can’t clone.

Why do all good ones die?

Never reaching their ceiling

Butterflies in the sky,

Delicate wings aren’t healing.

Tell me…

Why do all the good ones,

Why do all the good ones,

Die early?

Tell me…

Why do all the good ones,

Why do all the good ones,

Die early?

27, 27, 27…

Oh what a shame.

27, 27, 27…

Oh what a shame.

Tell me…

Why do all the good ones,

Why do all the good ones,

Die early?

Tell me…

Why do all the good ones,

Why do all the good ones,

Die early?

Why do all good ones die?

Never reaching their ceiling

Butterflies in the sky,

Delicate wings aren’t healing.

27, 27, 27…

Oh what a shame.
